Effelsberg radio telescope
Effelsberg | Germany
The running track of the 3,200-ton radio telescope of the Max-Planck-Institute, with a diameter of 64 m, was worn and in need of mechanical milling. To make this possible, we quickly developed and built a transport unit for our mobile milling machine which was driven by the telescope undercarriage and was able to balance out the height unevenness of the undercarriage of more than 2 mm.
