Round milling an external container wall

Grooves were needed in the external container wall of a cracked-gas boiler. The difficulty here was that the container was not perfectly round and it was difficult to move the milling machine along the surface. To guarantee radial milling of the necessary diameter, the boiler was turned using a rotating device. The milled grooves are approx. 50 mm wide and 10 mm deep. The milled length around the diameter was approx. 2,500 mm. We used a special radii milling machine to prevent notching.
